Green cloth cover with gilt titles and edging. One of a special edition of 1200 copies 'Presented by Mr George Alexander As a Souvenir of his Twentieth Year of Management of th St James's Theatre February 1st 1910.' George Alexander was the Actor/Manager whose company first staged this play in 1895, with Alexander playing the part of John Worthing. The preface to this edition is by Robert Ross. Edges are soiled and there is slight foxing to the endpapers. Previous owners inscription 'Margaret West Feb 2nd 1910'. An excellent and tight copy of an unusual edition.
